Biology and AP® Biology

Syllabus/Materials
  • This is an introductory Biology course with hands-on labs. The class covers a complete high school Biology curriculum, including chemistry of life, cell structure, cell energetics, genetics, history of life, bacteria & viruses, plant kingdom, animal kingdom, ecology, and related topics. The AP® version of the class requires additional work and lab analyses beyond the regular class.
  • All students will use Biology, BJU Press, 4th edition (not 5th edition).
  • AP students will also use OpenStax Biology, 2nd edition, also available as a free download . The Princeton Review AP Biology Prep guide has practice AP exams.
  • You will need safety glasses for a few of the labs (including the first lab on day-one). I will provide lab coats and gloves when needed.
  • You will need access to a relatively modern computer with internet connection.
