Below: Static electricity caused the Hindenburg to exploded into flames. In those days, airships were filled with Hydrogen gas (not a good idea!). As the crew was tethering the airship, they essentially 'grounded' it to the tower, causing some leaked Hydrogen to ignite. In an instant the whole ship was on fire.
