Student Conduct
It has been my honor and privilege to teach hundreds of hard-working and dedicated students, and I have been able to write dozens of reference letters for students pursuing careers, colleges, and trade school programs. With that in mind, all classes and lab sessions will adhere to high standards of business and civility, and students are expected to conduct themselves in a mature, businesslike fashion (this includes webinars):
Webinars
Conduct yourself in the same manner as a live classroom (see above). People are trying to learn, and the teacher is trying to teach.
Christian Mindset/Attitude
Classes begin with prayer and a short devotional. We are attending school to glorify God and prepare for a life full of opportunities and adventure!

- Show respect and consideration for others.
- Come to classes and labs ready to work. Bring textbook, calculator, and note taking supplies.
- Practice polite communication and patience with others
- Regular, punctual attendance.
- Positive participation in class discussion, labs, and projects.
- Abide by the Lab Safety Agreement at all times.
- No physical and/or verbal abuse/harassment.
- No hoods or headgear in class or lab sessions. We want to see everyone's lovely face! A baseball-type cap is okay.
- Students to wear clothing that is appropriate to the business of learning and not a distraction to other students.
- No verbal threats, hostile acts, or weapons allowed.
- No tobacco, alcohol, or drugs.
- Violations of these rules will result in warnings and/or removal from the class. There will not be a refund.
Webinars
Conduct yourself in the same manner as a live classroom (see above). People are trying to learn, and the teacher is trying to teach.
- Be on time
- Keep your discussions on topic
- Be polite and respectful of other students and the teacher
- Do not post distracting images
- Do not carry on distracting conversations which don't pertain to the class
- Students violating these policies will be warned and/or removed from the webinar. Repeat violators will be removed from the class. There will not be a refund.
Christian Mindset/Attitude
Classes begin with prayer and a short devotional. We are attending school to glorify God and prepare for a life full of opportunities and adventure!
Course Requirements
- Attend the classes (including both in-person and webinar sessions). Be on time.
- Skim the assigned chapter before attending class.
- Take notes and ask relevant questions during the lectures.
- Participate in the labs.
- Turn in your work by the due date.
- Don’t fall behind in your work. Do not procrastinate!
Grades
- Canvas uses 'grading elements' and a 'grading scale' for each class. These are listed in the grading section within Canvas.
Lab makeup policy
- Making up in-person labs is hard to do when you don't have a fully-stocked laboratory at home. It is your responsibility to schedule your own time to be able to attend the labs. If you are taking the class online, virtual or do-at-home lab protocols will be provided.
Homework re-work
- Turn in your homework to Canvas by the due date! DON'T FALL BEHIND. In certain circumstances, I will allow "rework" of a botched homework assignment where you have turned in the original on-time and otherwise completed it in good faith.
Academic integrity
- You are expected to exercise the highest moral and ethical standards. Acts of academic and personal dishonesty will not be tolerated.
- No cheating/copying — Do not share your work with others. I can usually tell in 30 seconds if you have copied someone's work. You can both be removed from the class with no refund.
- Fabrication— Do not falsify or invent data, or use fake citations or other authorities in a homework or lab assignment.
- A.I. - using various "A.I" applications to do your homework is being lazy and dishonest.
