2019-2020 class: The textbook for this class is Tortora's 12th edition
Study plan This course uses several learning modes: "Read it, hear it, see it, write it, discuss it, and do it"! Here are some tips:
Skim the reading assignment before class. Underline key words and phrases in your book using a pencil or highlighter. Anatomy & Physiology has lots of new terms, so skim-read the chapter(s) before class.
In class, try to ask questions and participate in class discussion. This is a really good way to engage your mind at yet another level.
During the lecture portion of class, take notes in your spiral notebook. Writing increases your retention.
During class, we will watch video clips and animations. "Seeing it" is another really good way to learn.
During the lab, pause to make notes and draw diagrams in your spiral notebook. You will need these notes to do your lab write-up later on... don't just rely on your memory to write your lab report.
Back at home, do the reading assignment again - this time the terms will be more familiar to you, and you can underline and highlight key concepts and make notes in the margins of your book.
Finally, watch the lecture video and homework videos before completing your homework assignment.
Homework re-work policy: Please follow this procedure to re-submit homework for adjusted grade....
Do your re-work on the ORIGINAL graded homework. Use a different colored pen/pencil, or indicate clearly what is being re-done.
Bring the re-work to the next class on the ORIGINAL.
I will re-grade and adjust the score. I will give 1/2 the normal points for re-worked problems.
